Good day

I had a good day, so far, today. Started off fretting what to cover in today's lesson. On top of that, the deputy principal comes into my room for a surprise evaluation! More stress!! So I'm making sure my kids don't embarrass me and trying to make the lesson really interesting at the same time. Some of the boys upfront are just giggling and talking and so on (little jacka***s). Anyway, the deputy principal sits in class for tens minutes and leaves. Whew!!

At the end of my day, which was a normal hectic day, I go to heck my school mailbox and see the evaluation form. I dread looking over it for it's always filled with things I'm doing wrong. I know its good for others to come and observe you, but I just cringe in getting eval-forms from the deputy principal. So I'm looking at it and.....nothing but good things. So I read on and...it seems as I did a good job. I was so excited!!! Yeah Me! Did it right!

So, now I'm working on a paper due the end of the week. Wish me luck and good week to all my readers.

Saturday Morning

So its Saturday morning....and I'm free all day. What am I to do?

Let me update you with what I've been doing thus far.

This past few weeks have been very busy. Week after week, teach during the day, work on grad school assignment by night.

And so now, finally, I feel like I'm starting to get the hang of it. With the whole day free to day, I can get caught up. I have 3 papers due next week for my classes and I'm half way finished with one. I have to spend Sunday all-day preparing lesson plans for the week.

Last night, I went to my 1st high school football game in 7 years! A friend of mine teaches at Gallup HS and they had their homecoming last night. It was great seeing the game. They are one of the worst teams in the district, might be even the state, but they won last night's game. There was never a dull moment in the game. The opponents, the Pirates score 13 points by the end of the first quarter so we were worried. Then by the end of the second quarter, 28 seconds left, Gallup High Bengals score! The crowd cheers. Then in the 3rd quarter we see the Pirates score up to 20. The Bengals make a comeback and score two more touchdowns giving them the lead of 21 to 20. In the fourth quarter, the Bengals score again and it becomes 27 to 20. We are thinking, this is good, the Bengal's are going to win! But uh-oh...Pirates get the ball and score! We're counting on Bengals defense, Pirates are going for the two point conversion and........they don't make it! We Win....WE WIN!!!!!!!!

All in all, an enjoyable night, watching a great game with friends....you couldn't ask for more.

Today, working on cleaning my place and working on my papers.

Do I take things less seriously now?

Its Tuesday morning at 5am. I have a paper due Thursday and I haven't started it yet. I have to create a few lesson plans and I haven't done that yet.

Whats become of me? I have become burnt out? Do I just don't care anymore because I have so much on my plate?

Sunday night

Well its Sunday night and what am I doing.....at home, in Gallup. Getting myself ready for the coming week. And I'm just sitting here, contemplating, did I expect myself to be here.

One year ago, in Lesotho, I was finishing my two year teaching experience in Lesotho; getting my mind around the fact that the reality of Lesotho would be coming to an end in 2 months.

Now I'm in Gallup, attending graduate school and teaching middle school and so busy that the 24 hours are not enough time for me to finish everything!

What a change of pace, from the slow, take it easy dont worry mind frame to a slow pace but hey you gotta do all of this by this time or you fail!

But hey that's life.....you gotta roll with it.
